About Rehab Without Walls

Rehab Without Walls (RWW) NeuroSolutions started more than 30 years ago.  RWW originally designed a program helping brain injury, spinal cord injury, and stroke patients using real-life activities in their own environment. Today, RWW is still removing walls, breaking barriers and rebuilding lives. But RWW is also connecting the neuro-rehab continuum, providing expertise in the right place at the right time with outpatient and residential services in addition to groundbreaking home and community rehab.
RWW services start with the understanding of a patient’s health, lifestyle and goals. RWW then assembles a team of neuro-trained therapists who work across therapy disciplines to create a truly personalized program that blends scientifically backed rehab protocols with the patient’s real-life activities. It’s a combination that delivers better results during the recovery journey and into the future.

    Home and Community Rehab
There's no place like home for healing.

Rehab Without Walls® home and community rehab blends evidence-based therapies with creative uses of the patient’s own surroundings – whether at home, school, work or in their own community.

Not only is home and community neuro therapy medically necessary for patients who qualify for the program, but it offers a huge advantage in treatment. Addressing goals and barriers in real-life settings can increase motivation, lead to more durable outcomes and reduce the risk of injuries that could lead to rehospitalization.

Over 30-plus years, we’ve served thousands of home and community rehab patients – and produced proven results that have been published in numerous peer-reviewed medical journals.

When is home and community neuro therapy the right fit?
Home and community neuro therapy is best suited for adult and pediatric patients who:
    • Are stable enough to go home
    • Are home-bound or have other complex medial requirements
    • May experience a clinical advantage, such as functional goals requiring a practice in a specific non-clinic setting
Our home and community neuro therapy programs are covered by some commercial health insurance and workers’ compensation plans. Medicare does not cover home and community-based rehabilitation.

“Our treatment model is based on serving people in their natural environment, which uses all the things they’re going to use on an everyday basis and wraps the rehabilitation into those tools, those settings, those places.”

    Residential Care
After a neurological injury or diagnosis, some patients aren’t able to go home. They may require more supervision or physical care than can be provided at home. To help patients in these situations, Rehab Without Walls® provides two types of residential care.
    • Transitional care – Patients receive intensive neuro therapy plus 24-hour-a-day supervision until they’re ready to go home.
    • Supported living – Residents receive day-to-day support for activities like personal care and taking medications, for as long as they need it.
For both programs, our priorities include providing for the comfort, health and safety of the individual while facilitating their return to their highest level of independence. We want our residential homes to feel like home, both for patients and for family members who visit. At the same time, we want patients to receive high-quality assistance and rehabilitation from people who understand the complexities of neurological conditions.
